The Artist’s Table: Edward Hopper
Wednesday, April 8 | 5:45–7:45 PM
Gather for an evening of art appreciation and hands-on painting inspired by Edward Hopper, one of the most iconic American painters of the 20th century. Known for his quiet, contemplative scenes of everyday life, Hopper’s work captures powerful moments of solitude, light, and atmosphere.
The evening will begin with a 30-minute discussion exploring Hopper’s artistic style, his use of light and shadow, and the way he created mood and narrative within seemingly simple scenes. We’ll look closely at one of his most famous paintings and discuss the storytelling elements and composition choices that make his work so memorable.
After the discussion, participants will move into a guided painting session, where we will recreate and study one of Hopper’s well-known works. This portion of the class will focus on observing composition, simplifying shapes, and understanding how light and space create emotional impact within a painting.
All supplies are included, and no prior painting experience is required. This class is designed to be both educational and creative, offering the opportunity to learn about an influential artist while creating your own interpretation of his timeless imagery.
