Summer Camp (K–5) : JUNE 10am-12pm (2hours per class)

 

WEEK 1: Nature & Living Things

 

Wild Color: Nature’s Palette - Tuesday, June 2

Inspired by the colors found in leaves, flowers, stones, insects, and sky, this class invites young artists to slow down and really see the world around them. Students will explore natural color palettes through watercolor and texture-based collage while learning how artists observe and translate nature into art.

Projects may include botanical watercolor painting and a tactile texture-rubbing collage.

 

 

Garden Studio: Art from Observation - Wednesday, June 3

This class focuses on careful looking, curiosity, and growth. Young artists will study plants, shapes, and organic forms as they practice observational drawing and layered mixed-media work. Emphasis is placed on noticing details, building confidence, and experimenting with materials in a calm, creative environment.

Projects may include observational plant drawing and a mixed-media garden scene.

 

 

Creature Lab: Real & Imagined - Thursday, June 4

From animals we recognize to creatures born purely from imagination, this class explores form, texture, and storytelling through animals. Students will study real animals for inspiration, then create their own creatures and habitats using drawing and sculpture techniques.

Projects may include an animal study drawing and a creature sculpture or habitat collage.

 

 

WEEK 2: Color, Pattern & Texture

 

Color Pop Studio - Tuesday, June 9

This high-energy class celebrates bold color, mixing, and expression. Young artists will explore how color can create mood, movement, and excitement while experimenting with abstract approaches. There’s no “right” outcome—just curiosity and confidence-building through color play.

Projects may include an abstract color painting and a pastel or chalk color study.

 

 

Touch & Texture - Wednesday, June 10

This hands-on, sensory-rich class invites students to explore how texture changes the way art feels and looks. Through layered materials and expressive techniques, artists will experiment with surfaces, mark-making, and tactile design.

Projects may include a texture board collage and an expressive texture painting.

 

 

Pattern Play Studio - Thursday June 11

Patterns are everywhere—from fabric and flooring to nature and architecture. In this class, students will explore repetition, rhythm, and visual movement while designing playful, thoughtful compositions.

Projects may include pattern painting and printed paper collage.

 

 

 WEEK 3: Building, Movement & Making

 

Build It & Paint It - Monday, June 16

This class blends creativity with problem-solving as students design and construct three-dimensional forms. Young artists will build sculptures using cardboard and found materials, then bring them to life with paint and surface design.

Projects may include a cardboard sculpture build and painted surface design.

 

 

Recycled Creations: Art Reimagined - Wednesday, June 17

This class encourages creative thinking and sustainability through art. Using recycled and found materials, students will explore how everyday objects can be transformed into meaningful artwork.

Projects may include a recycled sculpture and a painted assemblage piece.

 

 

Art in Motion - Thursday, June 18

Art doesn’t always sit still. In this class, students will explore movement through kinetic sculpture and expressive drawing. Artists will learn how lines, shapes, and materials can suggest motion and energy.

Projects may include a kinetic sculpture and gesture drawing or movement-based painting.

 

 

WEEK 4: Imagination, Story & Meaning

 

Mythical & Magical Studio - Tuesday, June 23

Dragons, legends, and imaginary worlds take center stage in this imaginative class. Students will design mythical creatures while exploring symbolism, storytelling, and personal expression through art.

Projects may include a mythical creature design and a story scroll or shield painting.

 

 

Ocean Explorers - Wednesday, June24

Dive into layered blues, mysterious creatures, and underwater worlds. This class combines movement, texture, and imagination as students create art inspired by the ocean’s depth and wonder.

Projects may include a mixed-media seascape and a sculpted sea creature.

 

 

Message Makers: Art That Speaks - Thursday, June 25

Art can tell stories, share ideas, and express feelings. In this class, students will explore how artists communicate messages through symbols, words, and imagery.

Projects may include poster design using words and symbols and a mixed-media message artwork.
