Realism: Gridding with Pencil (4-Week Workshop)

Develop your drawing skills and learn how to bring images to life with precision and realism in this four-week pencil workshop. Students will explore the gridding technique, a classic method for accurately capturing proportions and details, while gaining confidence in shading, blending, and erasing to create lifelike results.
 
Each week, we’ll build on technique and observation, working through exercises that strengthen hand–eye coordination and control of graphite. We’ll experiment with a variety of graphite grades and eraser tools, learning how to achieve depth, contrast, and subtle tonal shifts.
 
Whether you’re new to realism or ready to refine your drawing practice, this workshop offers a guided, skill-building experience that’s both technical and creative.
