Discover something new each week in our Art Uncovered Series, a rotating collection of one-hour classes designed to introduce fresh artistic concepts, techniques, and materials. From painting and drawing to printmaking and collage, each session offers a new topic, perfect for anyone who loves to explore and learn through hands-on creativity.

 

No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to create!

February 24 – Charcoal Drawing Techniques

Focus on value, texture, and form through the expressive power of charcoal. Learn blending, shading, and erasing techniques to create depth and drama in your drawings.

March 3 -  Quilt Painting
Inspired by the work of Faith Ringgold, this Art Uncovered session explores storytelling through quilt-inspired painting. We’ll look at how Ringgold used pattern, color, and narrative, then create our own painted piece that reflects personal story and design.

April 7th - Art Uncovered: Watercolor Skies
Explore watercolor techniques for creating expressive skies, focusing on movement, atmosphere, and layering to capture light and mood.

April 14th - Art Uncovered: Color Theory & Color Mixing
Learn the foundations of color theory while experimenting with mixing hues, understanding value, and creating intentional color palettes.

April 21st - Art Uncovered: Ink & Wash
Combine ink linework with watercolor washes to create contrast, depth, and expressive marks through this classic mixed-media approach.

April 28th Art Uncovered: Mixed Media Play
A process-focused class that encourages experimentation with layered materials, mark-making, and creative freedom across multiple mediums.

May 5th - Art Uncovered: Creating with the Elements
Use natural materials and elemental inspiration to guide your art-making, exploring texture, organic forms, and sensory connection.

May 12th - Art Uncovered: Impressionist Techniques with Pastels
Study Impressionist-inspired mark making using soft pastels, focusing on color, light, and expressive movement rather than detail.
